YOUNG rugby players from Kingham Hill School honed their skills with the professionals at 10-time English champions Leicester Tigers.

The group from Oxfordshire took part in a Tigers matchday coaching clinic and then joined a 23,848-strong crowd for the Aviva Premiership fixture against Newcastle Falcons at Welford Road.

Tigers' coaches developed their individual and team skills as well as taking tips and techniques with them to work on during their own season.

The students quizzed Tigers player George Worth about life in professional rugby and had a team photo taken with centre Gareth Owen on the turf at half-time.

Rebecca Lund, the school's director of sport, said: “It’s a really good opportunity for the kids to come down and take part in some rugby, especially for the guys that don’t usually play the sport.

“It’s fantastic to be involved and we hope to come back again soon.”
