PERSHORE Town open their maiden West Midlands League Premier Division campaign at county rivals Malvern Town on Saturday (3pm).

The new-look side signed off pre-season with a 2-1 defeat at Newport Town after Joe Barratt put them ahead.

Pershore have a tough early test against a side expected to be around the top end of the table.

Player-coach Luke Harris admitted: “Our results in pre-season haven’t been reflective of our performances.

“We know what we have to improve on and will work on that in training to get it right ahead of Saturday’s opener.”

Littleton open their Midland League Division One season at Chelmsley Town on Saturday (3pm).

Ryan Reeves scored in a 1-1 draw with Worcester City Reserves last week.

Reeves was also on target as Littleton finished pre-season undefeated with an exciting and competitive 3-2 win at Malvern.
