STRIKER Jacob Davidge is on the cusp of joining Evesham United from Southern League Division One South rivals Cinderford Town.

The 21-year-old, who returned to the non-league circuit after a spell in Australia, only joined Town in the summer.

The former Swindon Supermarine and Cirencester Town frontrunner scored 19 goals at Evesham’s level for Bishop’s Cleeve before notching 15 times in as many matches for Brisbane Knights on the other side of the world.

Subject to the deal being rubber stamped, Davidge could line up for United against promoted Blackfield & Langley tomorrow (3pm).

“He has been around the circuit and scored goals wherever he has been,” said Robins manager Paul Collicutt.

“I have known about him for the past three or four seasons and he is familiar with a few of our lads and the backroom staff here so we hope he can settle quickly.

“His availability came out of the blue but we’re looking forward to seeing what he can do.”
