EVESHAM United saw through 12 minutes of added time with nine men to overcome promoted Blackfield & Langley 2-1 at the Jubilee Stadium on Saturday.

The Robins had defender Nathan Summers sent off six minutes prior to the interval with winger Tyrone Tucker-Dixon withdrawn through injury late on after all three permitted substitutions had been made.

Goals from Cory Simpson and Nick Humphreys had put United in the box seat, although nerves began to jangle when Sami Makhloufi halved the deficit for the Watersiders nine minutes into added time.

After a tame start, Evesham went close when Will Tunnicliff's header was cleared off the line by Sam Poole and moved ahead eight minutes before the interval.

A Nick Hancock throw found Simpson to swivel on the edge of the Blackfield box and fire high across goal with his left foot.

Summers controversially saw red moments later for his tackle on Charlie Urry but the hosts remained on top as Simpson, Tunnicliff and Marley Thomas went close.

A warranted second arrived when Hancock's corner was directed in by the head of Humphreys 15 minutes from the end but the tide turned when Tucker-Dixon got forced off.

Makhloufi slotted home from close range but there was little to worry United thereafter.
