MOEEN Ali has been made available by the ECB to play in Worcestershire’s final County Championship Division One match of the season at home to Yorkshire from September 24.

The County will hope the all-rounder can repeat the form shown in his last two Championship matches which produced a haul of 16 wickets and 219 against Yorkshire at Scarborough.

Those performances prompted his recall to the England Test side for the final two matches of the series against India when he produced a man-of-the-match display at the Ageas Bowl.

But the all-rounder, 31, will not be allowed to play in next week’s Championship clash with Essex at Chelmsford after leading Rapids on Vitality Blast finals day at Edgbaston on Saturday.

Moeen's England team-mate Alastair Cook cannot play for Essex.

Joe Root and Jonny Bairstow are also being rested from the rest of Yorkshire’s games this summer.

Jos Buttler will go head-to-head with Moeen on Blast finals day after being allowed to play for Lancashire Lightning.

They meet in the first semi-final at 11am.
