THE Marukyu Evesham Youth AC Journal Cup presentation evening was at Raphael's Restaurant.

The Annual Journal Cup Series, consisting of eight Monday evening competitions on Town Water from June to August, had four age groups.

More than 15 turned up each week on the summer evenings with respectable weights achieved throughout.

Howard Kaye, Marukyu European sales manager, gave out the shields and prizes.

Leon Hawtin won the novice section from Cameron Pitman in second and Joshua Parnell in third.

The under 12s went to Tobias Cosnett with Zak Brotherton second and Sam Moulton third.

Dan Collings topped the junior section from Harry Golder in second and Dan Chalk in third.

Joe Cook won the intermediate ahead of Harry Lewis in second and Owen Robinson in third.

The under 15s national team of Callum Jennings, Chalk, Golder, Collings, Mike Cross and Harry Brockie won the Junior National Championships at Aston Manor Fisheries, Sheffield, in June.

Jennings, who won a silver medal individually, and Billy Pitman helped the England under 15s team to fourth at the world championships in Italy in July.

The Brian Bennett most improved angler went to Collings for the 2017-18 season.
