TONY Stanley won Evesham's Bill Onion Trophy as 54 players competed.

The scoring reflected a return to excellent playing conditions with Stanley getting 83 gross 16 handicap 67 nett.

Jeremy Saunders was second with 81-11=70 and Stuart Ridley third with 79-8=71.

Evesham welcomed 18 pairings for the annual Father and Son Cup.

Despite a poor weather forecast the event was completed without disruption.

The winners were the 2017 holders Ian and Terry Martin from Kings Norton and Rosehill on 41 points.

Home entrants Nick and Henry Webb were second on 37 on countback from another Evesham pair in Richard and Ashley Curnock.

Evesham seniors played their Autumn Cup qualifying medal competition.

It was played in difficult, windy conditions and was won by competitions secretary Malcolm Hiscock with 73 nett.

Second was seniors' captain Bill Dobie with 74 and third was Doug Wright on 75.
