PERSHORE have won the Midlands Ladies Touch League South West championship title after a clean sweep of wins at all four of the nine-team regional tournaments.

Their win at the final competition at Drybrook gave them a maximum season’s total of 40 points, five ahead of runners-up Ledbury.

In third place were Bredon.

“We were all simply elated,” said Pershore ladies' coach Alice Keylock.

“We have had a lot of new players join the ladies' team this season but they have gelled really well, learned quickly and they have really proved that having fun is the route to success.”

Sian White, Emmie Bewley, Emma Field, Rachel Griffiths, Louisa Gardiner, Natalie Bewley, Vicki Gwilliam, Jess Wheway, Clare Kinahan, Sarah Thomas, Mel Curnock, Kat Williams, Harriet Grant, Evie Woodfield, Nadia White, Jules McLeod and Poppy Riddleston made up the squad.
