EVESHAM United must recover from their FA Trophy hangover when they tackle a Midlands derby at the Jubilee Stadium tonight (7.45pm).
Paul Collicutt’s Robins host higher-ranked Stourbridge in the Southern League Cup first round with Sunday’s 5-1 home thrashing by Moneyfields still in their minds.
The extra preliminary round beating was courtesy of a Dan Wooden brace and goals from Felipe Barcelos, Dan Woodward and Lewis Fennemore.
Joe Turley netted a late consolation for Evesham after Will Wellon saw red.
Collicutt read the riot act to his players and urged them to make amends.
“Moneyfields were very clinical and we had a bad day at the office,” he said.
“We missed chances and too many of our players had bad games.
“You can’t carry seven or eight players like we did last Sunday.
“They deserved to win. I have got no qualms about that.
“But I am just very disappointed by the way we went about our business.
“There is a good way and a bad way to lose and against Moneyfields that was a bad way. I was not happy with it one bit.
“We said a lot of strong words in the dressing room after the match so they know how I feel and it is about getting a response.”
