LITTLETON continued their attempt at a great escape with a well-deserved 2-2 draw against mid-table Paget Rangers at Five Acres in Midland League Division One.

The hosts started brightly and could have gone ahead after only two minutes when Luke Rowlands broke clear to beat the keeper only to see his shot hit the inside of the post and spin clear.

The visitors began the second half brightly and only good defensive work kept the score level.

But in the 65th minute Paget were awarded a somewhat soft penalty that was converted by Ross Dempster.

The score was level after 70 minutes when having been bundled over in the area Rowlands converted from the spot.

The game suddenly came to life and after 80 minutes Rangers were back in front after a fine save from Edward Cox rebounded to Torryn Connolly who shot into the top corner.

When all looked lost Littleton showed their desire and were rewarded by an 89th-minute equaliser when Matthew Iorns prodded home from close range.

Second-from-bottom Littleton are at home again on Saturday against neighbours Studley (3pm).
