EVESHAM United is on the cusp of signing striker Kane Simpson – brother of Robins pair Cory and Kye Simpson – according to current club Frome Town.

The Southern League Premier Division South outfit reported last night that top scorer Kane, one of five Bristol-based brothers plying their trade in non-league circles, is set to sign for United.

Winger Cory Simpson was snapped up by manager Paul Collicutt over the summer with striker Kye then joining Evesham’s ranks from league rivals Mangotsfield United in October.

Kane scored eight goals in 22 appearances for Frome, a club that plays in the division above United’s.

Evesham’s trio come from a family of eight siblings, six of whom are boys.

Troy Simpson plays for Bristol Manor Farm and came off the bench in Friday’s 2-1 win over Evesham.

Jamel plays for Hallen in the Western League Premier Division with Aaron the only brother who does not play.
