CALLUM Ferguson hit his career best T20 score as a brilliant unbeaten century helped Sydney Thunder to a six-wicket win over Perth Scorchers in the Big Bash.

The Worcestershire batsman finished on 113 not out from just 53 deliveries with eight sixes and eight fours.

It was the second T20 ton of Ferguson’s career as he demonstrated the form which helped the Rapids to Vitality Blast glory last summer – and he will be back at Blackfinch New Road in 2019.

He came to the wicket with the Thunder on 18-1 in the fourth over facing a challenging target of 182.

But Ferguson’s awesome display of hitting enabled the Thunder to win with four balls to spare.

They are now occupying fourth spot in the table after their fifth win of the campaign in the race to qualify for the knockout stages.

Ferguson was given excellent support during a second wicket stand of 120 in 11 overs by Matthew Gilkes (51 off 38 balls).

Earlier, Shaun Marsh had struck 96 not out for the Scorchers in a total of 181-4.
