CONNOR Sherry gave his team-mates plenty of reason to indulge in a post-match tipple with five goals in Strawberry Field United’s 9-1 bashing of Kidderminster Lions.

United were one of six Evesham Sunday League clubs to progress in the Worcestershire Sunday Minor Cup amid a flurry of goals in the county competition.

Holders Cropthorne won 4-2 at Wilden Village with goals from Jack Dean, Leon Williams, Dan Hibberd and Oliver Clayton, while Ashton 88 won 3-0 at Droitwich Spa Eagles reserves thanks to Lewis Carter, Matt Ingles and Will Stevens.

TDMS Harvington accounted for Millfield Rovers 4-0 with Alex Gretton, Chris Handy, Jack Philpott and Luke Woodfield on the score sheet.

Dragons smacked Bengeworth 9-0, helped by Alex Lane scoring a hat trick. Ambi Allsports won 8-6 at fellow Evesham side Fortis with Aidan Booth (3), Chris Bullock (2), Ian Dawe (2) and Scott McKenna among the goals. There were defeats for Vale United, TDMS Evesham, Fladbury and Bredon.

Leaders Bretforton Old Boys had to come from two down to earn a 3-3 draw at Inkberrow in Division One.

Kieron Sheen (2) and Alex Bullock scored for the home team but Old Boys struck through James Schembri (2) and Luis Sone.

Dan Moore (2), Ash Spencer and Alfie Barnes scored as Mickleton Rangers beat Stour Excelsior 4-0, while Tewkesbury Town picked up a 3-2 win over Broadway United with Kieron Dyson, Andy Pepperell and Matt Tarling notching for Town and Jack Milward and Wesley Parker replying.

Alderton opened up a five-point lead at the top of Division Two with a comfortable7-1 win over Badsey Recreation. Liam Pennell (3), Lee Bowles (2), James Ellis and Harry Davies scored.

In Division Three in Division Three Stour Excelsior reserves and Stratford HGC played out a 1-1 draw.

Will Gayton’s treble helped Bretforton Sports Club progress with 4-1 victory at Kempsey Colts United in the Sunday Junior Cup. New Inn Pershore went through on penalties but Offenham Rovers lost 3-2 at home to Station Inn.
