RIKI Wessels and Adam Finch will be part of the Worcestershire squad for the pre-season tour of Abu Dhabi for the first time next month.

Batsman Wessels has settled in with his new team-mates at Malvern College since the start of 2019.

He signed a three-year contract at Blackfinch New Road following his end-of-season move from Nottinghamshire.

Paceman Finch is also looking forward to his first tour of the UAE – the sixth in a row undertaken by the County as part of their preparations.

He has been part of the England Young Lions squad which has just completed a tour against Bangladesh under 19s.

A quartet of players in Ed Barnard, George Rhodes, Ollie Westbury and Ben Twohig will be part of the party after recently returning from spells playing grade cricket in either Australia or New Zealand.

First-team coach Alex Gidman and his assistant Alan Richardson will be joined by Andy Sutton and Ryan D’Oliveira who this summer will be part of the coaching set-up with the second eleven.

Worcestershire will play 50 over games against Essex, Somerset and Warwickshire and a two-day red ball game versus Essex in addition to five days warm weather training during the trip from March 6 to 20.

Wayne Parnell will link up with the squad in time for the three-day match against Cambridge University at Fenners in early April at the end of his stint in the Pakistan Super League.

Moeen Ali is on England duty and Callum Ferguson will report back to Blackfinch New Road on May 1. Jack Haynes, part of the squad 12 months ago, is ruled out with a foot injury.
