LITTLETON went down 2-1 at high-flying NKF Burbage in Midland League Division One despite a heartening display.
With a little bit of luck or steadiness in front of goal Littleton could quite easily have won.
As with the previous weekend they made the worst possible start by going one down on four minutes when a clever ball set up Tristian Atkinson to score from close range.
Littleton then created an opportunity as a half-volley from Cameron Walker following a corner was cleared off the line.
The visitors had the better of the play and in the remainder of the half had three efforts hacked off the line.
But they fell further behind on 35 minutes when a cross-shot was mishit by Jack Whitehurst and deceived keeper Edward Cox.
Littleton worked hard to get back into the game in the second half and had two vehement penalty appeals turned down.
But their only reward was a goal on 75 minutes from David Glaze from eight yards following a Dan Holloway shot which was parried.
Bottom-of-the-table Littleton host Brocton on Saturday (3pm) and visit Hinckley AFC on Tuesday (7.45pm).
