THE Evesham and District Table Tennis Association’s Junior, Cadet and Novice Championships were held at the town’s St Egwin’s Middle School.

Bredon Hill Academy pupil Beth Pye beat Anna Cole from Prince Henry’s High School 3-1 in the cadet girls’ singles final.

Pye had seen off Sophie Arrandale 3-0 in the semis while Cole defeated Rebecca Arrandale 3-0. Emily Grove was also involved in the quarter-finals after Cole, Pye and Rebecca Arrandale topped the groups.

Pye repeated her 3-1 victory over Cole in the junior girls’ singles final.

Sophie Arrandale and Abi Ingles were the beaten semi-finalists.

The junior drawn doubles final provided some compensation for Evesham’s Cole when she teamed up with Harvey Gough to defeat Johnny Blakely and Alfie Saunders 3-1.

Blackminster Middle School pupil Gough had won the novice handicap final 3-0 against Noah Raven who was in his first competition.

The junior boys’ singles final saw a repeat of last year’s match with Prince Henry’s High pupil Alex Emms beating Luke Fisher 3-0.

Missaka Heenatagila from Bishop Perowne College, Worcester, claimed a double, defeating Joe Cull 3-1 in the cadet boys’ singles and Danny Norman 3-0 in the novice singles.
