FC Wickhamford are through to the Worcestershire FA Saturday Minor Cup final for the first time after a 4-2 win at Droitwich Spa under 21s, writes Joe Forte.

A goal each from Jack Steele and skipper Louis Brown as well as a brace from Sam Ford was enough to see off Spa in a high-scoring last-four clash.

Wickhamford will now face Bredon in the final at Bewdley Town’s Ribbesford Meadows ground on May 18.

Wickhamford have also beaten the likes of Kempsey Corinthians and Tenbury Town on the way.

‘Everyone at FC Wickhamford is very pleased with making the county cup final,” said the club’s chairman Josh Greaves.

“It’s the furthest we’ve ever got in the competition and we’ve had to beat some tough teams to get there.

"It’s great to see the commitment and hard work pay off in a decent cup run, especially the county cup.”

It has been a successful season for Greaves’ club who are flying high in Stratford-upon-Avon Alliance Division One.

Wickhamford look to reach their second final of the season when they host Welford-on-Avon in the RM Smith Cup on Saturday (2.30pm).
