SIMON Claxton retained his men's singles title in a double success at the Worcester League Championships.
The city's Bishop Perowne College hosted the competition with Janet Hunt in charge of nine events which produced a high standard of table tennis.
Holder Claxton beat Luke Moffatt in the men's final 11-9, 11-7, 11-9 after defeating Patryk Kowacz in the semis 11-7, 11-6, 12-10.
Moffatt saw off Lukasz Gatkiewicz in a close last-four clash 14-12, 16-14, 11-9.
Claxton also won the veterans’ singles by beating Mark Fiddian in the final 12-10, 11-9, 7-11, 11-4.
Moffatt had two further successes. In the men’s doubles with young Alex Emms he defeated Claxton and Gatkiewicz 5-11, 11-8, 11-8, 11-7.
The Tyler Cup, the main handicap event, saw Moffatt (0) saw off Pete Griffiths (+5) 21-18, 21-19.
The veterans' doubles, with drawn partners, went to Fiddian and Griffiths who beat Steve Dorrell and David Brown 11-6, 11-3, 13-11.
The veterans' singles handicap was won by John Stalker (+2) against Fiddian (0) - 21-20, 21-13.
The Doug Young Cup for Division Two players was collected by Leon Claxton after defeating Thomasz Borek 7-11, 12-10, 11-6, 11-9.
The charity doubles, with drawn partners, saw Eliot Brandwood and Leon Claxton edge out Griffiths and Lloyd Taylor 5-11, 11-6, 9-11, 11-5, 11-6 in the final.
In the intermediate singles for players under 21 Emms had further success by beating Taylor 9-11, 12-10, 10-12, 11-6, 11-3.
