Kidderminster Lions under-10 girls celebrate their cup win
KIDDERMINSTER Lions under-10s girls team is celebrating silverware success in their very first season.
The girls have secured the Mercian Junior Football League Cup with victory in a thrilling final on March 10.
Lions won 3-2 against Redditch-based side Kingfisher Girls under-10s thanks to goals from Katie Taylor, Martha Colville and Sophia Webster-Ford and with the help of a player of the match performance from Sophia Webster-Ford.
Manager Sally Haines said: "The girls are the only team in the club that have got to a final and won it in their first season - a fantastic achievement and the match itself was a great advert for girls football."
