IN-FORM Pershore Town foiled title-chasing visitors Haughmond with a 1-1 draw in the West Midlands League Premier Division.

Town extended their unbeaten run to six games but were only denied victory by an injury-time equaliser from second-placed Haughmond.

The first half was a battle with few chances although Town's James Baldwin chipped over keeper Sam Jones and the bar after a long ball over the defence.

In the 40th minute Pershore's Matt Pinder cut into the box and fed Nick Seabourne whose shot was pushed away by Jones.

Pershore dominated after the break with chances still rare but in the 76th minute Baldwin was brought down in the box and Pinder fired the penalty home.

However just as the referee had indicated to players that time was up after the throw-in the ball was played into the box and Reece Taylor eventually headed home.

Pershore, who are up to 15th, entertain Bilston Town Community on Saturday (3pm).
