Mike Roberts, John Nutman, Phil Davis and Ray Jackeman won with 98 points.
Rob Sharp, Ron Andrews, Bob Taylor and Martin Holland were second and Dave Millard, Keith Watson, John Jarvis and Mike Heard third with both on 96.
Nigel Smith, Peter Causer, Richard Browning and Tony Hampson finished fourth on 95.
Nearest the pin on the fifth hole was Ronnie McFarlane.
Forty ladies tackled cold, wet conditions for the first open of the season.
The nine-hole greensomes competition was won by Catherine White and Felicity Banbury, of The Warwickshire, with 15 points.
Along with a fashion show, the successful day will add £346 to the Vale joint captains’ three charities.
Meanwhile, Sonny Nangle won Broadway's junior medal with 70 nett from Ryan Wright on 71, Jackson Wojahn-Parker on 74 and Joe Golding on 75.
Eighty-six men played the Broadway Bogey in the first official competition of the season.
Jamie Thomas won with six-up from three players on five-up with Dan Lamb second, Dave Goodwin third and Ollie Storrer fourth on countback.
