OFFENHAM athlete Alister Brown is preparing to bid for success in Romania.
The 28-year-old will tackle June's 2019 Targu Mures ETU Spring Distance Duathlon European Championships.
Brown is aiming to complete the sprint duathlon covering five-kilometre and 2.5km runs sandwiching a 20km cycle section in under an hour.
He is being supported by Evesham's Kanes Foods to cover his expenses, travel costs and new race kit for the competition.
Brown started working with a triathlon coach last November 2018 and fits in training every day with running, swimming, cycling and gym work while working full-time and being a part-time running coach.
He said: “I started running to help with my mental health and I found that not only did it really help me but I enjoyed it that much that I started entering competitions.
"I would love to become the best athlete I can possibly be so this race is one step further in helping me achieve my ambition and I really appreciate the support that Kanes Foods is providing.”
