EVESHAM rowers secured 10 wins at their annual club regatta while also helping land victory for City of Oxford.

Fourteen more crews from the Vale hosts reached the finals in their events on the River Avon to take second place.

Evesham had success at all levels of age and experience.

One of the youngest crews of Euan Woodfin, Finn Warren, Tyler Huddleston, Alex Repton coxed by Emma Parkin, easily beat Oxford by three-and-a-half lengths.

The experienced four of Richard Evans, Norman Baldwin, Rob Buckley and Francis Pinkerton, coxed by Carol Lovelock, took first place to team-mates Simon Andrews, Simon Edwards, Mark Repton, Richard Wood and cox Will Heslington.

A quarter-of-a-length was all that was needed for masters G duo Tony Rowland and Dave Pollard to beat Upton.

In the open J18 event coxless quad Toby Haycock, Sam McClenahan, Matt Oliver and Duncan Repton edged out local rivals AB Severn by just two feet.

Four Tom Wallbank, Josh Hemming, Matt Sampson and Jacob Organ, coxed by Emma Elias, scraped into first position by just one foot from Stourport.

Double Sam McClenahan and Ollie Parr easily beat Oxford while Tom Hill and Ben Ferris beat Avon County by two lengths.

In the women’s single sculls Rosie Macdonald outpaced her rival from Avon to win by three-and-a-half lengths.

Leah Saunders so impressed in an earlier doubles event against Oxford that she was asked to row in their quad who went on to beat City of Bristol.

Women’s masters coxless quad Tracy Goldstraw, Julie Foster, Debbie Staite and Lovelock worked hard to beat Upton by just two feet.

Despite being allocated a handicap masters F/G/H double Richard Evans and Francis Pinkerton overtook team-mates Tony Rowland and Dave Pollard to win by half-a-length.
