PROMOTED Bretforton opened their Cotswold Hills Cricket League Premier Division win account with victory at Overbury.

Bret amassed 303-8 from 45 overs in their second league game of the season before bowling their hosts out for 175 in 31.2 overs to secure a 128-run success.

Skipper Paul Jones took the Overbury bowling apart with nine fours and 17 sixes in his 173 batting at number four.

Everyone else took a back seat with Anthony Pratley scoring 28 and Jamie Clarke 20.

Mark Trueman claimed 4-65 from 10 overs.

Despite 34 from opener and captain Josh Colwell, Overbury were never in the hunt with Pratley taking 5-56 and batting hero Jones adding a catch as well.

Ashton-under-Hill are the early leaders in Division One following a second win, beating visitors Norton Lindsey and Wolverton by just one run.

The hosts were restricted to 152-8 from 45 overs with Tom Archer (74) preventing a lower target.

In a dramatic finale Norton were bowled out for 151 in 44.3 overs with Tom Watling claiming the crucial run out.

Will Archer picked up 3-45 and Sam Cope 3-33.

Third-placed Elmley Castle have also chalked up two victories with the latest at Leamington thirds.

Elmley were kept down to 176-9 with Simon Cooper scoring 34 important late runs.

They secured a 44-run triumph by restricting the home side to 132-9 with Cooper (4-39) and Tom Attwood (3-42) the main wicket-takers.

Badsey got a rain-affected four-wicket win at home to Leamington fourths in Division Two.

Sam Thomson's 4-29 helped dismiss the visitors for 165.

Badsey reached their revised target of 144-6 in 38.3 overs thanks to Dan Andrew (36), Thomson (47) and Rob Andrew (18 not out).

The Lenches beat Earlswood thirds by 111 runs in Division Three.

Steve McNally (49) and David Turner (36) guided them to 176 all out on a damp pitch before Earlswood were blasted out for 65.

Martin Hayward collected 4-12 from nine overs.
