LITTLETON Chargers beat Bengeworth Wolves by nine points 310-301 in the John Mytton Handicap Cup table tennis final.

Chargers had defeated a strong Bengeworth Pandas team by 15 in the semis with 276 points thanks to 112 from player of the match Rebecca Arrandale alongside Simon and Ben Robinson.

Captain Simon Robinson decided to play his youngest team of Daniel Reynolds, Sophie Arrandale and Rebecca Arrandale in the final.

Wolves captain Bob Bryant included David Baglow, Tim Willis and David Harman in an experienced line-up.

They were 12 points up after the first two matches but Chargers fought back as Rebecca Arrandale took points from Harman and Baglow.

Her team-mates responded and in the penultimate match Reynolds produced the display of the night to beat Harman.

Just 15 points separated the teams with one match to go.

Baglow won the first two games against Sophie Arrandale who dug deep to claim enough points in the end to secure the cup for Chargers.
