WORCESTERSHIRE Women’s Rapids bowled out Devon for just 32 to win the second of their ECB Vitality County T20 matches at Old Hill.

Rapids bounced back from defeat in their opening game against Durham earlier in the day to gain an emphatic eight-wicket success.

Captain Georgie Adcock put Devon in to bat – and the bowlers fully justified her decision as Devon were dismissed in just 14 overs.

Emily Arlott (2-10), Sarah Glenn (2-8), Clare Boycott (2-6) and Flora Bertwhistle (3-4) were the wicket-takers and only opener Georgia Hennessey (10) reached double figures.

Adcock then struck 19 and Rachel Howell 13 not out as Rapids reached their modest target in eight overs.

Earlier, Rapids had gone down by seven wickets to Durham in another low-scoring encounter.

Rapids opted to bat and were restricted to 82-7 in their 20 overs.

Boycott top-scored with 24 and Arlott (18 not out) and Glenn (16) were the other major contributors.

Opening bowler Louise McCarthy (4-0-8-3) and Rachel Petherick (4-2-13-3) impressed for Durham.

Rapids struck back immediately with the ball as Bertwhistle (2-14) and Glenn (1-11) reduced Durham to 12-3.

But there were no more breakthroughs as Rachel Hopkins (23 not out) and Ami Campbell (48 not out) saw Durham to 83-3 in 13.4 overs.
