MALVERN Town have bolstered their ranks ahead of the new season with the signings of Ben Miller and Sam Hunt.

Forward Miller arrives from Westfields while left-sided player Hunt makes the move from Wellington.

Having netted 13 goals for Westfields last term, co-manager Lee Hooper believes Miller will add "a lot of quality" to his side going forward in Hellenic Division One West.

“We are absolutely delighted that Ben has chosen to join us,” Hooper said.

“As his goal tally from last season shows, he knows where the net is and he is also not shy in putting the graft in when out of possession.

“He is also a good lad to have around the dressing room and will fit in well with us here."

Miller has spent the past three seasons with Westfields having previously been on the books of Hereford FC.

“Hopefully I can bring goals and assists to the team,” Miller said.

“I want to help us get out of this league at the first time of trying.

“I’ve spoken to Hoops a lot about the project that is going on here and it sounds very exciting.

"It’s something I was keen to be part of.

“I know a few of the lads and they’ve said how much they enjoy their football here, so that helped in making my decision."

Hunt has higher level experience having spent three years with Cinderford Town and also serving Cirencester Town and Westfields.

“Sam has a wand of a left foot,” Hooper said.

“He is an experienced and hard working lad with a great attitude who fits into the type of character that we want to bring into the group, both on and off-the-field.

“He is able to play in a number of different positions on the left-hand side. He likes to get forward from defence and has good delivery.

“This is another exciting signing for us and we look forward to what he will bring to the team.”

Hunt admitted it did not take him long to decide to sign for Town.

“It was a no-brainer,” Hunt said.

“The ambition and progressive profile that the club has both on and off-the-pitch was a huge attraction to me and I wanted to be part of it.

“I feel I’ll bring good experience and add depth at full-back.

"Hopefully I can establish a regular place in the team and be part of a solid defensive unit as well as adding some quality going forward and in my distribution.

“We’ve had some really good, high-energy training sessions so far and, to be honest, I can’t wait for the season to start."

Malvern return to action on Saturday with a trip to Kent to face Greenways in a friendly.
