PROMOTION-CHASING Old Elizabethans were skittled for 40 in an embarrassing defeat at Worcestershire League Premier Division leaders Stourbridge.

Tom Goodwin (10) was the only player to make double figures with their second highest score coming from Stour’s extras (9).

Dan Such (5-9) and Dan Wale (4-13) did the damage with the ball as four players were dismissed without scoring.

Jujhar Johal (22) and Harshad Patel (17) then completed the demolition job at the War Memorial Ground.

Russell Southwick (55 not out) compiled an undefeated half century to enable second-placed Redditch to keep up with the pace as they beat Evesham by nine wickets.

In other matches Worcester made light work of basement side Feckenham and in the game of the day Stourport tied with Pershore in a pulsating encounter.

Colwall won the battle of the top two Division One sides by 20 runs in a low scoring match against Hagley at Stowe Lane.

Droitwich Spa gave themselves a lifeline at the foot of the table as they won at Worcester Nomads.

After an indifferent start the visitors' lower middle order rallied to post an excellent first total and then went on to dismiss the home side cheaply thanks to Matt Gurr (4-22).

Lowly Brockhampton seconds pulled off the surprise of the day when they snatched a two wicket win at high-flying Lye.

This defeat allowed Ombersley seconds to move fifteen points clear at the top of Division Two after beating Barnt Green seconds by one wicket.

In Division Three, table-topping Netherton extended their lead as they were given the points by bottom club Pershore seconds who failed to field a team.

Old Elizabethans seconds beat Stourbridge seconds to give themselves some breathing space towards the bottom. Second-placed Worcester seconds breathed new life into the Division Four title race as they defeated leaders Harborne by seven wickets at Norton Barracks.

Worcester now sit just 14 points behind Harborne with nine matches remaining.

West Malvern’s promotion hopes in Division Five suffered a setback as Chaddesley Corbett replaced them into second following a six-wicket win.
