EVESHAM athlete Alex Doherty returned victorious from the ETU Multisport Championships in Romania after winning the standard distance duathlon.
The 35-year-old travelled to Targu Mures, where he completed a 10km run, 40km bike and 5km run in 1.52.49 in challenging conditions after the race was delayed by 90 minutes due to a storm.
He was the overall race winner across all age groups and received a gold medal.
In 2018 he won gold medals in both the World and British championships.
Doherty said: “I’m ecstatic about taking the overall win in Romania, it was very special for me.
“I couldn’t have done it without some amazing support behind me.”
