BROADWAY'S past lady captains competed for the Chapman Jug.

The 2006 captain Jen Doran won with 41 points from Sonia Ward on 37 and Pam Hooper on 36.

Ninety-six competitors from 18 clubs competed for the ladies' open over a three-ball alliance.

Broadway’s team of Annabelle Carter, Lin Andrew and Liz Smith scored 77 points to take the first home prize.

Frances Friend, Maggie McDivitt and Judith Noyce were second on countback. 

Winners of the mixed home and away category with 69 were Sheila Lawson and Veronica Rudd along with visiting team member Gwen Knight from Stinchcombe Hill.

Second with 67 were Broadway’s Rita Smith and Henrietta Cooke along with Sue Jones from The Vale.

The winning away team of Wendy Bond, Liz Sandilands and Jane Rees from Minchinhampton scored 76 ahead of Kingsdown's Jan Scott, Lynn Thornton and Carol Jones with 75.

Nearest the pins on the par-three fifth and eighth holes were Maxine Allen and Bond from Minchinhampton.

Andrew achieved nearest the pin in two on the par-four seventh and Pat Hawthorn from The Warwickshire hit a 190-yard tee shot down the 18th to win the longest drive award.

The Bonzo Roberts Trophy's foursome pairs competition involved 68 Broadway men.

Jim Covill and Joe Williams won with 69 nett ahead of Richard Tate and Neil Swindlehurst on 70 and Matt Sollis and Will Icke on 71.

The Martyn Freeman Trophy competition raised £438 for Campden Home Nursing.
