BROMSGROVE School have been crowned under 17s national cricket champions.

They beat Bede’s from East Sussex by five runs in the final at Loughborough after two stumpings from Tom Cosh and a run out in the last over.

Bromsgrove posted 158 from 36 overs with man of the match Awais Mohammed scoring 78 not out.

Jasper Davidson took two early wickets in reply before spinners Freddie Fallows and Dan Meredith also stemmed the flow of runs.

Joe Miszkowski claimed 2-18 in three overs including the last one when there were nine runs to defend.
