AN Evesham Rowing Club coxless quad secured third place at the Great Ouse Marathon.
The competition challenged rowers to a timed long-distance head race over around 21.5 kilometres on the River Great Ouse from West Norfolk Rowing Club to Ely against the stream.
In windy and warm conditions Francis Pinkerton, Rob Buckley, Bryan Hay and Norman Baldwin also set a new G record of one hour 31 minutes 49 seconds.
For the first time in their double in a year, Ian Evans and brother Rich in a Hollowell/Evesham composite finished second in their category and seventh overall in 1.33.19.
