LITTLETON again let a lead slip as they lost 3-2 at home to a physical Black Country Rangers side in the West Midlands League Premier Division.

Heavy rain made for a tricky surface and a battle with the visitors starting better by forcing keeper Lewis Handley into an early save.

Littleton weathered the early storm and soon created an opening as skipper Ben Billingham fired just over from distance.

They suffered a blow on just 25 minutes, losing defender Myles Brooks to what seemed a serious head injury following an aerial clash.

Jourdain Masidi came on and a battling first half continued to be scrappy with little goalmouth action.

The second half was a much better contest and opened with the visitors taking the lead as a break down the left saw a low cross smashed home by the oncoming winger.

Littleton responded well and were level on 60 minutes as top scorer Adam Garmson hit a hard, low free-kick straight through the keeper.

The hosts started to dominate possession and went ahead again from a free-kick, this time captain Billingham curling the ball into the top corner from 20 yards.

Littleton created more chances with Jade Ferron heading wide from inside the box and Garmson rattling the bar.

With 25 minutes left Littleton winger Ben Cassidy was carried off the pitch with a broken ankle and taken to hospital with veteran striker Keith Rostill coming on.

Littleton still had more of the ball and looked dangerous but were caught on the break five minutes from time with a strike from the edge of the box to level.

Things got worse for Littleton in the final minute as a deep corner was headed into the far corner to decide the contest.

Kayelden Brown, Jarad Daniels and Danny Meek scored for Rangers.

Littleton head to Bewdley Town on Saturday in the league (3pm).

Meanwhile, Pershore Town gained no reward for hosting their game despite the wet weather, losing 3-0 at home to Bilston Town.

They previously exited the Worcestershire FA Senior Cup in midweek with a 4-3 defeat to Worcester Raiders.

Town host Black Country Rangers on Saturday (3pm).
