EVESHAM United has secured FA Cup progress without kicking a ball after Covid-19 cases forced opponents Coventry United to withdraw.

The Robins had been due to kick off the 2020-21 season with Saturday's preliminary round tie but the Red and Greens have reported "numerous positive tests across the coaching structure and players".

That caused them to call off a midweek Midland Football League Premier Division clash with Newark and the first team will play no football until at least Saturday, September 19. 

Ties are played as one-off matches decided on the day due to coronavirus-related delays to the start of the season with any club unable to fulfil fixtures forced to surrender their place in the competition.
