Evesham United have announced that their first team manager is to step down from the role imminently.

The decision was announced late on Monday night, October 18, following a meeting between head coach Neil Hunt, chairman Jim Cockerton and vice-chairman, Chris Wright.

Hunt will now take on a new role at the club as Head of Football where he will assist in the future development of the club.

The club are now searching for a replacement and Hunt will remain in charge until one is found.

A club statement said: “Neil will continue as manager until a replacement is found, and we thank him for his endeavour and commitment during a very trying period.

“Neil will be remaining with the club as Head of Football. In this role, he will be assisting in the future development of the club, helping to take it to the next level, which has always been part of the long-term plan.”

Hunt has been in charge since March 2020 following the departure of Carl Abbott.
