EVESHAM United ended a run of seven games without a win in all competitions as they came from behind to beat Plymouth Parkway 3-1.

It was just the third win of the season in the league and brought a run of five league games without a win to an end and in some style, as they responded to Jordan Copp's early opener to seal the win.

Callum Ebanks equalised after 17 minutes and Brandon Smalley put them ahead just before half-time.

Ebanks found the net again in the second-half and it could have been more but had it not been for Kyle Moore in the Plymouth goal but in the end, it was a comfortable win.

Evesham made what has become their customary attacking start to the game. Yet again the goalposts came to the rescue of their opponents, a powerfully struck 25 yard shot from Callum Ebanks hitting the post with just 4 minutes on the clock.

Despite the home side dominating the games early exchanges it was the visitors who struck first. An 11th minute penalty was despatched confidently by Plymouth’s Jordan Copp.

The equaliser came just six minutes later when a well worked move down the centre of the pitch enabled Callum Ebanks to drive forward, brushing off the attention of a number of defenders before firing past Moore.

On 38 minutes Evesham took a deserved lead with a goal that brought the 236 strong crowd to their feet.

The ball came to debutant Smalley on the corner of the 18-yard box and he hit it first time on the volley before watching it hit the back of the net.

The second half started in the same way the first finished with United dominating play, the visitors being limited to scraps

An excellent performance by visiting keeper Moore was keeping the score respectable, that was until the 52nd minute when Smalley found Ebanks in the box.

Yet again he held off his defender before his powerful shot found the back of the net.

As the game continued, The Robins played by far the better football, much to the delight of the loyal home faithful.

The last opportunity of the match fell to the visitors in the 89th minute, Michael Landricombe’s long range shot was parried away by Lewis Clayton whilst at full stretch.

But that was to be that and the game finished 3-1.
