KYLE Belmonte scored a goal and got sent off as Evesham United fell to defeat at play-off chasing Bristol manor Farm last weekend.

The midfielder scored with seven minutes left to play to give The Robins hope of snatching a late point after goals from Farm's Dean Stamp and Jayden Nielsen in the 81st minute put them 2-0 up.

But any hope of taking a point back home was scuppered deep into injury time when Belmonte was show a red card for hacking down Mike Bryant by the corner flag.

The result sees Farm go within three points of the play-offs, whilst Evesham remain in 13th in the Southern League Division One South table.

Having won their last two league games, The Robins started with confidence and they thought they had the lead when Brandon Smalley cut inside and fired home, but the assistant’s flag denied him the opener.

The hosts then grew into the game and with 25 minutes played, Stamp thumped a right-footed shot into the corner to give Farm the lead.

Bryant looked to have scored a second but the officials ruled it out for offside.

Into the second-half, Evesham substitute Toumani Sidibe forced Ben John into a smart save and the visitors pushed for a leveller but ten minutes from time, the game was settled when Nielsen thrashed one home off the crossbar.

Belmonte's deflected effort beat John to half the deficit and for a brief moment there was hope but the red card brought an end to that.
