IT might not be a case of heading to Wembley but Pershore Town lived up to their giant-killing nametag once more as they reached the Worcestershire FA Senior Cup Final after beating Step 3 Redditch United 3-2 in their final four tie at The Trico Stadium.

Having already beaten United’s league rivals Bromsgrove Sporting in the quarter-finals on penalties, Step 6 Pershore came from behind to once more topple higher-league opposition on Monday evening to set-up a final date with ..........

They went behind in the 25th minute when Reds’ winger Charlie Williams finished a brilliant solo move with a low strike past Eddie Cox before Josh Willis’ penalty 60 seconds later levelled matters at 1-1.

Scott Hammond scored two minutes after half-time to give The Plums the lead for the first time and they took a step closer to the final when striker Aidan Clark brilliantly tucked away a low drive with 69 minutes on the clock.

Redditch were second best after the break but pulled a goal back through Ryan Boothe’s head with 10 minutes left to make the 120-strong travelling support sweat behind the goal.

Despite plenty of late pressure on the Pershore defence, they kept the Reds at bay without too much drama and there were jubilant scenes at full-time as the players celebrated with the large contingent of supporters who had made the trip.

Pershore are back to league action this weekend when they head to relegation threatened Cirencester Town Development on Saturday.
