Brandon Smalley scored twice as Evesham United eventually cruised to a 4-1 win at home to Highworth Town last weekend.

Smalley started and finished the scoring either side of a Thomas Chamberlain rocket and Jack Horrell's direct free-kick.

Having been 2-0 up and cruising, Highworth's Liam Haines scored heading towards the final ten minutes to give the hosts a scare but Horrell and Smalley finished the job with two goals in two minutes to secure the three points.

The result ended a run of four Southern League Division One South defeats in a row for Evesham and saw them move to within two points of last weekend's opponents in 12th.

As for Pershore, they continued their mightily impressive run with yet another win in the Hellenic League Division One.

They made the trip to lowly Cirencester Town Development but despite the difference in league position, Pershore did go a goal behind early in the first-half when Aidan Bennett scored in just the seventh minute.

But James Baldwin responded just six minutes later to equalise before Aidan Clark put The Plums ahead just before half-time.

Baldwin scored his second in the 49th minute to make it 3-1 and Pershore managed to see the game out to secure their fourth league win in a row.

They are now up to sixth, a place outside the play-offs.
