WINGER Alex Hearle became the latest academy product to commit his future at Worcester Warriors.

Hearle has agreed to a new two-year deal that will keep him at Sixways until the end of the 2023/24 season.

The 23-year-old signed his first professional deal two years ago having come through the Three Pears Academy and has enjoyed somewhat of a breakthrough campaign.

Hearle registered a first-ever senior hat-trick in the win over Exeter Chiefs in the Gallagher Premiership clash this year, which took him to five for the season in 18 appearances.

Director of rugby Steve Diamond has continually stated his desire to promote homegrown talent and he is particularly excited about what Hearle is capable of.

"Alex has a wonderful future ahead of him," said Diamond.

"He’s very athletic, he’s a big lad and he can play at either centre or on the wing. He has an edge about him which I like.

"He’s another player that has come through the Academy at Sixways and it’s great to see him and other homegrown players committing to the club."

The winger, who has also played at centre this season, has excelled in recent months under Diamond and is excited to continue developing under the new boss.

"I am very happy to be staying here for two more years," added Hearle.

"I really believe in what Steve Diamond has instilled in the time he has been here and it makes me very excited about the future potential that we have at the club. Something we showed in the Premiership Cup victory.

"It’s been great to get the opportunity to play this season. I have loved every minute of it. I have learned a lot, had a lot of fun and I can’t wait to play some more rugby in front of Worcester supporters.

"Having grown up locally, and come to Sixways to watch games with my family as a kid, it’s fantastic to be a part of this team. To play with guys that you’ve known for eight or nine years makes it even more special."
