DANNY Janes praised his side's "complete performance" as Pershore Town celebrated winning the Hellenic League Division One title following their 3-0 win over Clanfield 85.

Jake Donnelly gave The Plums an early lead before a Levi Steele double after the break completed the comfortable victory which moves the league leaders nine points clear.

The players were then presented with their trophy having officially clinched the league title on Thursday evening after their 8-0 thrashing of Moreton Rangers.

And boss Janes was full of praise following an "outstanding performance".

"The players were outstanding in and out of possession, their decision-making and technical play was to a very high standard," he said.

"On reflection, I felt that was one of our strongest performances of the season. Clanfield are a good side but the players looked very comfortable and that was because of the individual performance levels.

"They maintained their standards which I knew they would, they should be proud of what they produced.

"We now focus on Monday as we look to deliver another three points."

Pershore were back in action against Abingdon United on Monday night but there was finally to be some sort of post-celebration hangover as they suffered a rare home defeat.

Oliwier Orzechowski put the visitors ahead when he beat the offside trap and fired past Eddie Cox in the Pershore goal.

Kirk Layton did equalise for The Plums in the first-half but James Williams scored after a swift counter-attack in the second-half to wrap up the three points.

Pershore play their final league game of the season as Stratford on Wednesday night.
