EVESHAM United kept their play-off hopes alive on Monday night as two goals from Kyle Belmonte guided them to a vital 3-1 win over Bristol Manor Farm.

Following on from Saturday's 1-0 win at Bideford, Evesham knew they had to win to stay in contention and Alfie Dunn put them on their way in the first-half as his cross come shot flew over the keeper and into the back of the net.

If there was a hint of fortune about the first, there was little doubt about the second as Dunn turned provider to deliver a brilliant ball from the right to the onrushing Belmonte, who kept his cool before slotting home five minutes after half-time.

And then with time running out in the second-half, Belmonte surged forward and smashed a left-footed goal through the keeper to seal the win, despite a late consolation for the hosts via Evander Grubb.

Evesham have two games left and play their game in hand on Wednesday night at Willand Rovers. A win there would put them back in the play-off places ahead of the final day of the season on Saturday at home to league champions AFC Totton.

A win would clinch a play-off spot but anything less and they would be needing favours elsewhere.
