IT proved to be a successful weekend for both the men's and women's first teams from Pershore.

On Saturday, a Steff Ellis hat-trick guided the men to a thumping 49-0 win at Tamworth 2XV. Jack Bacciocchi, Todd Charlton, Brian Ranns and Greg Hitchcock also got over the line, with Charlton adding seven conversions.

As for the women's first team, they managed to secure their second win of the Women’s NC3 Southwest (North) season thanks to a comprehensive 43-12 win at Piddle Park.

Pershore’s captain Samantha Smedley was the first to cross the line, with the visitors responding 20 minutes later to make it 7-5 in Pershore's favour.  A sniping try from scrum-half Mollie Dale stretched the hosts' lead to 12-5 and winger Laura Kelly raced over just before the break.

Pershore started the second-half well and some dominant carries eventually provided Smedley with a second try to wrap up the bonus-point.

Nicola Hope's score looked to have sealed the game for the home side but Cheltenham came back to dot down and bring the score to 29-12.

But Sally Jakeman replied with a try and conversion, and, in the last minutes, Kelly stretched her legs and ran in another to provide the icing on the cake.
