EVESHAM United suffered their fifth consecutive league match without victory, narrowly falling to Walton & Hersham.

Dawid Rogalski handed the hosts an early lead before Levi Steele equalised to send the sides into the break level.

However a second-half winner from Elliott Bolton sealed all three points for the home side, while The Robins slipped to 14th in the Southern League Premier South.

It took just three minutes for Rogalski to put The Swans ahead.

Applying pressure early on, Jack Wood sprayed a cross into the box with Rogalski on hand to connect and provide the early advantage.

Minutes later Evesham were almost hit by an early quickfire double, but saw an effort from Johl Powell fall the wrong side of the post.

Rallying back, Mike Ford's side drew level just before the half hour mark.

Will Owens went on a tricky run down the left before unleashing an inch-perfect cross to Steele, who was all too happy to nod home the free header into the bottom corner of Josiah Barker's goal.

Jenson Kilroy impressed early on in the second half, ensuring Evesham didn't suffer a similar fate to the first period and fall instantly behind.

Mason Obeng beat his man to break into the Evesham box and unleash a strike at net but Kilroy was on hand to pull off the quick reaction save and keep the scores even.

However soon after he wasn't as lucky with Bolton scoring the goal which would eventually prove to be the difference.

Joey Jones teed up Bolton from outside the area who struck a hopeful strike that found its way under Kilroy's body.

With 25 minutes still to play, Walton & Hersham were reduced to 10 men after Powell picked up his second yellow for simulation and was sent for an early bath.

The hosts came again one last time before the final whistle. Jonathon Page struck an effort on the volley but was denied by the woodwork.

The result sees Walton & Hersham move to second in the division while Evesham find themselves 14th.

Next time out for Mike Ford's side comes a home match against Hungerford Town on Tuesday (September 9) at 7.30pm.
