EVESHAM United defender Matt Williams is free to talk to National South outfit Hungerford Town from Friday.

Robins boss Paul Collicutt confirmed the 23-year-old, who had been ever present this season prior to missing Saturday’s 1-1 draw at AFC Totton, had been offered the chance to jump two levels by the Berkshire club.

However, Collicutt remains hopeful that Droitwich-based Williams may opt to stay put with the potential for travelling to prove cumbersome.

“We don’t want Matt to go anywhere but you cannot stand in the way of players when a team from a higher level comes in,” said Collicutt.

“I know the travelling might be a bit of an issue, it is two hours plus for him so we will just have to wait and see.”
