Elise Christie has expressed her heartbreak at her latest Winter Olympics disappointment.
The 27-year-old Scot finished fourth in the women’s 500m short track speedskating final on Tuesday after crashing.
The blow followed her triple disqualification at Sochi 2014, but the three-time world champion looked ahead to Saturday’s 1,500m and her main event, the 1,000m, next week.
Christie wrote on Twitter: “I’m heartbroken with the result, but I also know what happened wasn’t in my control!
“I worked so hard for the 500, but this time round it wasn’t meant to be, 4 years to prepare to be a 500 Olympic champion, but for now onwards and upwards to the next event. Thanks for all the (heart emoji).”
