HEAD coach Paul James insists his Worcester Wolves players will need to be on their guard when they visit Bristol Flyers in the British Basketball League tonight (7.30pm).

Wolves defeated Bristol 91-76 at the University of Arena in January but Flyers came out on top in their last meeting, winning 82-74 at the WISE Arena in February.

And with Bristol yet to secure their place in the play-offs James reckons his side will have a fight on their hands to win their head-to-head.

“Bristol played Sheffield on Tuesday night and looked like they would be blown away,” James said.

“But they came back and won the game in the last minute and a half.

“They are very confident at home as their court is very tight and the crowd get into it.

“We have got to be prepared for whatever they throw at us and make sure we are structured and stick to the game plan.

“It is going to be another tough game and they are another side that need to win a match to make the play-offs.

“All the games we have got now are very exciting as there is a lot to play for.”

Wolves will also have little time to prepare for the encounter having played Sheffield Sharks at the English Institute of Sport last night.

“It’s not ideal to play back-to-back games,” James added.

“But we knew this was coming up so we have got to make sure that the guys get some rest and then do a bit of light work in preparation for Bristol.”
