WARRIORS.
7 Pennell – injected plenty of energy after the interval, cutting some good lines and stepped up to land a touchline conversion late on only to miss one to put Warriors in front.
8 HOWE – aside from squandering one gilt-edge chance the wing was excellent, scoring two tries, teeing up Lawrence with a superb offload and securing a crucial late penalty. My man of the match.
8 Lawrence – was a real livewire for Warriors in the second half and demonstrated tenacity in defence before showing phenomenal athleticism to touch down in the corner.
7 Te’o – starting in his fourth successive match for Worcester, the England star’s crash-ball style kept his side on the front foot and his stopping power also came in handy.
7 Hammond – was purposeful in attack, making several surges from deep and scored the match-winning try but his missed tackles led to two of Stade’s four scores in the first half.
8 Mills – was not faultless but stood up when it counted with an excellent touchfinder to present a lineout inside Stade’s 22 and then an inch-perfect pass to Hammond to score the winner.
7 Arr – failed to stop Arias in the lead-up to Coville’s score but was sharp around the breakdown and kept his side ticking with crisp passing.
6 Waller – helped Warriors win one scrum against the head just after the interval and chipped in with a few carries before being replaced by Black.
7 Singleton – fresh from his England call-up, the hooker put in a solid display with only one of his 19 lineout throws going awry and kept plugging away.
8 Kerrod – made the odd handling mistake but did well to dot down at the base of the post and showed his aerobic capacity with a second successive 80-minute shift.
7 Kitchener – returning to the starting line-up the lock made one lineout steal as he operated well in the set-piece and made some yards when he got hold of the ball.
6 Fatialofa – earned an early penalty for his side as he looked to make an impact but did not return for the second half due to an issue with his shoulder.
7 Mama – provided the ball on a plate for Howe to score his first with a delayed pass and was one of Warriors’ most effective ball-carriers.
8 Lewis – was caught flat-footed by Danty who stormed through for Stade’s fourth try but was otherwise brilliant in defence and attack, touching down for a second-half score.
6 van Velze – played a part in Warriors’ opening try but went off early following a blow to his ribs. He was replaced by Cox who ran hard.
