AN innovative Worcester audio equipment manufacturer has launched the first ever range of bespoke sound amplifiers, allowing customers to individually specify their orders.

Coomber Electronic Equipment, the UK’s leading maker of audio and visual equipment for the education sector, has introduced the custom-made technology only months after the firm was purchased by a consortium of county businessmen. Heralded as a major change in direction for the business, the new 44500 Sound Amplifier Series will be fully manufactured to the individual requirements of its customers at the firm’s purpose built design facility in Warndon.

The range, which will be targeted at both the UK and international markets, allows customers to have total control over the functionality of their sound systems, specifying the number of CD drives required, microphone sockets, multiple speakers and tablet or smartphone integration. The new easy-to-use amplifiers will also give Coomber’s customers the option of a mains or battery-charged product, making them easily portable and attractive to the mass-market.

Managing Director Aaron Kernaghan said: “As a new management team we are delighted to be able to launch such an innovative, leading product so soon after taking over the firm. We have listened to the feedback from all of our customers and what they would like to see in their audio solutions. The initial responses were extremely positive and have helped us to develop the new 44500 Sound Amplifier Series. It’s a range of products ideal for the education and corporate markets. Robust and easy to set up, the amplifiers are also perfect for indoor or outdoor venues including halls, meeting rooms, classrooms, fitness studios and even churches. The bespoke approach is also something completely new for the industry. It gives our customers options like never before and the opportunity to specify an amplifier to their exact requirements. The launch is the first step in our ambitious innovation programme and we are well on course to achieving our objective of releasing new Coomber products on a quarterly basis throughout 2015.”

Coomber Electronic Equipment can trace its roots back over 100 years and was purchased by the Worcestershire trio of Tony Bennett, Aaron Kernaghan and Simon Williams in February. The business, one of only a few UK businesses to hold Apple MFI and DFI licences, designs and builds audio and visual products including sound amplifiers, CD players, microphones and headphones
