THE Edinburgh Festival Fringe comes to Worcestershire next week with preview shows by comedians Lucy Porter, and Chris Mayo.

Porter’s distinctive feelgood comedy has been a huge hit with audiences since 2001 and has taken her all over Britain as well as far-flung places such as Miami, Las Vegas, Hong Kong, Switzerland and Paris – and now she’s coming to Evesham.

Lucy has appeared on TV shows such as Mock the Week, Argumental, Have I got News for You and Never Mind the Buzzcocks, as well as Celebrity Mastermind and The Unbelievable Truth.

She is back at the Edinburgh Festival this year after a year’s break.

Chris Mayo’s new show for Edinburgh 2012 is Identity Crisis: which one is him?

Mayo has been performing on the UK comedy circuit since 2005.

As well as comedy-club gigs and festivals, he’s worked alongside some big names including Dave Gorman, Stephen Merchant, Shappi Khorsandi, Russell Kane, Lee Mack, Stewart Lee and Arthur Smith.

Each of these shows is about an hour long, with the comedians using them to test and polish their material before hitting an Edinburgh Festival Fringe stage.

Tickets cost £9 (concessions, students and groups of eightplus £8) or £10 at the door on the night, available online at eveshamartscentre.
